This is such an exciting time for your 8th graders as they embark on their high school careers! We know there is a lot of information and many questions, so our wonderful Eaton counselors are going to hold a virtual meeting on Monday, February 1st at 5:30 PM! We hope you’ll be able to attend.

Your students have been learning about the many Programs of Study (pathways) and opportunities in their CCR/AVID class and will be choosing their endorsement and classes in the next couple of weeks. Attached is the presentation your students will see this week in their classes. We wanted you to have the opportunity to view it as well before our meeting with Eaton’s counselors.

As you will see in the presentation, a link will be provided on Wednesday for students/parents to select an endorsement. This will be completed electronically and will require an electronic signature from both the student and the parent. This selection populates the required courses for students to electronically select the correct courses in HAC for the program of study they choose. This endorsement commitment will be due on Friday, February 5th. Course selections will follow in the next couple of weeks.

I am going to compile a list of questions that will help the high school counselors guide their presentation. I can then create a Q&A document from those questions. This will be shared after the meeting. If you have any questions, please respond to this email and I will add your question. Please note that you will not receive a direct answer at this time, but I will share the Q&A document after the meeting.
