Thank to the NISD Board of Trustees for honoring our Wind Ensemble for being selected to perform at the 2020 Music for All Music Conference in Indianapolis. Thank you to Directors Ray Hilley and Chad Waterman and so many band families for all of your support!

Congratulations to Mrs. Dodson for being nominated by student Carissa and voted as the "Smile Doctors Braces" Teacher of the Month by our community!

May STAAR Assessments and End of Course Exams

  • Tuesday, May 4: End of Course Assessments: students in Algebra 1

    • Bring charged chromebook.

    • Algebra EOC is part of the 5 assessments required for high school graduation. If a student in algebra misses the exam on 5/4, the make up exam will be Friday, 5/7. Additional make ups and retesting opportunities will be provided in June and December, but our goal is for every algebra student to participate and be successful in their first attempt.

    • Lunch is in the cafeteria so in-person students can bring their own or eat the school provided meal.

    • Remote learners can check in the front office at 8:40 for their respective STAAR exams, and they will be released after testing to the front office at 1 pm.

    • All other non-testing students will follow the regular bell schedule, in-person and remote.


  • Thursday, May 6: STAAR Assessments: 8th Grade Science

    • Bring charged chromebook.

    • Lunch is in the cafeteria so in-person students can bring their own or eat the school provided meal.

    • Remote learners can check in the front office at 8:40 for their respective STAAR exams, and they will be released after testing to the front office at 1 pm.

May COVID Update

If you have any questions about what the health and safety protocols are for Northwest ISD, we want to be able to answer your questions and support your student. Some families have reached out with common questions, so we wanted to share this information for clarity and consistency as we wrap up this school year!

We also want to give a big shout out to our families, students, and staff for helping navigate this most unusual school year!

Quick Notes

Still in place:

  • Mask requirements for indoors in all NISD buildings

  • Limited visitors on campuses.

  • No food deliveries to campuses. All students have access to free lunch in the cafeteria.

Main Change:

  • Masks are optional outside for NISD events, during the school day and before/after school.

The Eaton Eagle Color Guard is a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill, perform at Football Games alongside the Pride of Eaton Marching Band, push yourself academically, and earn both a PE and a Fine Arts credit! No experience is necessary, and anyone can join! We will teach you everything you would need to know about how to spin flags, rifles, and sabres.

enrolling for NEXT school year

Online enrollment for all students – both returning and new to Northwest ISD – for the 2021-22 school year will open April 19 at www.nisdtx.org/enrollment, though families of returning students can wait for emails to re-enroll their children. Transfer requests are also open through May 17th at https://www.nisdtx.org/parents/student_transfers.


This is also the easiest opportunity to update your address, change phone/emails, and designate guardians and emergency contacts for the next school year.

Attendance Phone calls

NISD campuses send automated attendance calls. These calls occur on Fridays and will summarize student absences for the week, including the number of days the student has at least one absence for that week. Please log in to the Home Access Center to view details regarding your child’s attendance.
