Wilson Community Update

Planning for Thanksgiving and Beyond

Some NISD families have asked "are you closing the school or going to 100% remote learning after Thanksgiving break?" Mrs. Childress talks through these scenarios in the video linked below. Currently, no NISD campus meets the district's requirements for closure, and Wilson is scheduled for in-person learners to return to the building on Monday, November 30th.

We hope all of our families are able to enjoy the break. We are very grateful for each of you!

COmmunity health

The Wilson staff says THANK YOU for all the ways you’ve supported our students, staff, and campus this year. Whether it’s helping your child at home with Remote Learning or homework, showing appreciation to our teachers, or adapting to protocols to keep your kids and family healthy, we are very thankful for your support!

Public health is a priority for us, and we also appreciate the Wilson community's mindfulness of their neighbors by keeping symptomatic students at home. This includes a huge shout out to Nurse Kristy Edney and Assistant Principal Michelle Jennings for communicating with our Wildcat families as questions or concerns arise.

Our on-campus students are now very comfortable with NISD health and safety protocols, including masks, and this is helping to avoid unnecessary cases of quarantine from close contact. Off-campus, the Wilson community is interconnected with contacts across multiple campuses and towns, so we encourage our community to help minimize infections and close contact quarantines by keeping similar protocols in mind for social gatherings and non-NISD extracurricular activities, for both students and adults. If we can all work together to minimize the spread of this virus, we will be more likely to keep our school doors open, maintaining community health and honoring the choices of both our in-person and full-time remote learners.

Again, thank you for your partnership!
