8th Graders Begin Researching NISD Pathways and Academies

Wilson was chosen to be the recipient of a grant from the Charles Schwab Foundation. Nurse Edney received a grant for CPR mannequins for our campus, and last week, 8th graders learned how to perform CPR as part of their research into the NISD EMT/Medical Pathway. 8th graders, as part of their AVID and College and Career Readiness classes are exploring all of the Career and Technology pathways ahead of them in high school, and some are applying to High School Academies this semester.

Chromebook Accident Insurance

Life happens! So do cracked screens, lost chargers, and random "uh-ohs"!

All Wilson students have the opportunity to receive a district issued Chromebook. Students keep the same device throughout the student's enrollment in Northwest ISD or until issued a replacement device. The student does not pay an annual use fee, however, the student is responsible for any fees associated with a lost or damaged device.

In order to offset this cost, students have the option to purchase an annual maintenance plan each year for $25. Click here. Students on the free and reduced lunch program will have the maintenance plan fee reduced to $10 automatically at checkout. If you feel you should receive this discount, but the price is not automatically adjusted please contact your campus administrator.

Usually, this plan must be purchased within 30 days the first day of school. This year, due to COVID, NISD is extending to 60 days from enrollment. That timeline is quickly approaching. The plan covers the device from the first day of the current school year until the first day of the next school year and starts immediately upon purchase. The optional yearly maintenance plan pays one-half the cost of a covered repair.

To purchase this plan parents/guardians will log into NISD's online payment portal.

Early Voting Continues in NISD

For addresses in the Wilson MS feeder pattern, the closest voting location for early voting is the Old Haslet Elementary School, 501 School House Road, Haslet 76052. Click here for additional information on voting locations, procedures, and what the ballot propositions look like for NISD related items.
