Week ending
Friday 8th March, 2024
Happy Friday!
This week we concluded our topic of Contrasting Countries; exploring the Amazon Rain forest by looking at the curious question, 'What animals live in the Amazon Rain forest'? We sorted and compared Amazon animals to Farm animals and looked at their different habitats. We finally finished our rain forest diorama by drawing animals such as sloths, ocelots, poisonous dart frogs, blue morpho butterflies and spider monkeys then cutting them out and adding them to the scene. The children experienced a tropical fruit salad, using fruits that would be found in the Amazon rain forest, so please ask and see if they can remember and name them!
We went on a shape hunt looking for squares and making squares using various collage material and everyday resources.
The children have been very reflective thinking and sharing with the class what they appreciate about their mothers and grandmothers and how to show this appreciation everyday!
On that note, we wish all mothers and carers a very happy Mother's Day! We appreciate all you do and thank you for your continued support encouraging your wonderful children to learn and grow!
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Best wishes,
The Nursery Team

Making squares!
Use everyday objects, draw or paint squares. Why not even go on a square hunt when you are out and about?
Activities to try at home this weekend
Why not make your own fruit salad, it can be as local or as tropical as you like! Please share photos if you do!
Noticeboard
Please continue to remind your children to share how they are feeling with an adult while they are in Nursery, especially if a friend has been unkind so we can sort out any issues promptly.
Please encourage your children to keep their toys at home as we cannot ensure a safe return.
Thank you to all who return the Nursery resources that the children accidentally take home!
