Learn about the philosophy behind our games, including experiential education, the US Olympic Committee’s development model, inclusion, and best practices in physical and STEM education.
We walk through all the activities in our 6-lesson progression at levels 1 (Experience, Explore and Play) and 2 (Observation, Connection and Navigation with Maps). We then explore orienteering activities for middle school and older students.
Participants complete a traditional orienteering course and/or a team "Score-O" game. We then analyze the experience, discuss orienteering tactics, and think about what we can take from it into the learning games for students. We observe the direct translation from orienteering techniques to life skills.
