Walk around, matching real-world features with map symbols
“Let’s walk around and match the map to the world around us!”
Map Walk is a group activity where participants follow a real-world route while matching map features to what they see, building confidence in map reading and terrain awareness.
In a safe, supportive group setting, participants walk a course together, discussing how features on the map match the terrain. This helps build confidence in using maps and understanding how they relate to the real world.
