A progression is a sequence of lessons. A lesson is a sequence of activities that focus on one or more skills. A simple introductory progression might look like this:
Safety and boundary: Boundary Run and Gathering
Exploration: Explore and Find; extra activity: draw a map or picture of the area
Clue sheets: Animal-O; extra activity: draw a map showing the location of one animal; can a friend interpret the map and name the correct animal?
Communicating location: Clothespin-O
Keeping a map oriented: Geometric-O, Maze and Grid-O
Map Symbols: Symbol-O, Score-O, Poison Score-O
The sport of orienteering: Traditional races with leader board
