OUSA Youth Mapping Project
Orienteering USA has a program to connect schools and youth-serving organizations to an orienteering cartographer to get a map made of your campus or nearby park. This page provides instructions on how to apply.
Read the information at https://orienteeringusa.org/resources/ymp/
Fill out the application at this link. You will need the following information:
Name and contact person of a person in your organization who will be the cartographer's "eyes on the ground".Â
A clear description of the area to be mapped, including the boundaries (often described as streets or property lines).
A rough plan for how you want to use the map. (Eg, for PE classes or a field day)
Suggested answers:
Select "Yes" for the question about applying for an OUSA grant to help pay for the map.
Put Navigation Games as the local OUSA orienteering club
Put Maija Pratt, with email address admin@navigationgames.org, for the contact person at the local club
State that Navigation games will advise you on program design for the question on how we will collaborate.
If you have multiple areas that you would like mapped, include them all in a single application, and describe them all in the "description of area to be mapped" question.
