Friday March 29 @ 10 - 11am, Oscar 1
Presenters: Barb Bryant (Navigation Games President, Orienteering USA), Maija Pratt (Navigation Games Executive Director)
Orienteering is a physically active outdoor experience that develops map navigation skills. In collaboration with school teachers in Massachusetts, Navigation Games has created orienteering-based curricula that can be used anywhere, for all ages. In this workshop, participants will play some games, and get to know our introductory school orienteering curriculum. You will come away with lesson plans, and with ideas for bringing orienteering to your students.
Workshop 2: Orienteering in PE 2: Elementary Skill Building (Outdoors, Weather Permitting) Navigation Games
Friday March 29 @ 11.15 - 12.15pm, meet at Oscar 1
Presenters: Barb Bryant (Navigation Games President, Orienteering USA), Maija Pratt (Navigation Games Executive Director)
In this workshop we will play outdoor orienteering games using a map of the campus. You will think about how to incorporate orienteering-based games in your curriculum.
