Purple Pen (Course Design) Tutorial
Watch this tutorial. (from the Columbia River Orienteering Club, 8:09)
Alternate tutorial (Gordon Bossley, 6:11)
Turn on the computer and open the Purple Pen program.
Design a point-to-point course.
Create PDFs for the courses and master (all-controls) map.
Export an xml file that can be imported into Easygec.
Import the file into Easygec and check that it has the correct courses in it. Remove the "all controls" course, which is not really a course.
Design a score-O course in Purple Pen
Create PDFs for the score-O course and all-controls map.
Export an xml file that can be imported into Easygec.
Import and test it in Easygec, making sure you have set the course to be a score-O (order does not matter). How are the results reported?
Create a new point-to-point course in Purple Pen. Now remove portions of the map by using "Add special item" menu and choosing a white area.
