The Montgomery Township School District's Visual Art Program begins with our youngest PreK students and progresses through the high school where students can prepare for college level courses, including AP level studio arts classes. Our art faculty share a common philosophy of process over product in which students are constantly guided in and encouraged to experiment, make creative design decisions, develop artwork that shares their unique view of themselves and of the world, and grow in their understanding of themselves and each other through art making. The creative process of reflection and refinement is paramount. There is a place for every student in our visual arts program! No matter a student's level of experience, we work hard to help every student find success through the arts. Our art program is divided into two main components. Virtual Art Gallery from 2020 Pandemic
In 2020, we all experienced the unfortunate closing of our schools and the temporary move to virtual instruction. For so many of our students, the arts are what kept them going during this incredibly difficult time. While we were not able to be in person, our teachers and students worked incredibly hard to stay connected through art making. While we hope never to rely upon a virtual art gallery again, this gallery is a testament to how our students can overcome through the arts in trying times. As such, we are leaving it up for all to see.
