Art Extravaganza 2020!

Welcome to the Montgomery Township School District's Virtual Art Extravaganza!  During our time at home, our students have been engaged in creating beautiful works of art.  The Visual Arts program in the Montgomery Township Schools prides itself in giving our students a safe space for self-expression, developing their creativity, and sharing their impressions of the world through artistic expression.  We are happy to share some of our middle and high school work with you here.  Unfortunately, due to logistics, we could not include elementary work in this gallery, but we look forward to celebrating their work when we are back in school together. Much appreciation is extended to the students from our National Art Honor Society, who assembled this Virtual Exhibit.

Much of the work in this gallery was completed during our period of distance learning, and as you will see, our students' artistic learning did not stop on March 12th when our buildings closed. During this time of having to stay apart, we hope this art can bring us together in our common understanding of the human condition and our belief in empathy.  Students explored a wide range of topics. Their work deals with serious world, social, and mental-health issues; explores nature and our environment; expresses emotions from joy to sadness and from fear to courage; and discovers shared beauty and life.

We are so impressed with their ideas and talents and are excited to share them with you here. We are proud to present this virtual art gallery to you and look forward to the 2021 Arts Extravaganza being in person again!
