Academic Update #4
January 23, 2017
Dear Colleagues,
We continue to keep you updated on the Academic Plan’s development. You should have received a working draft of the Academic Plan Planning to Flourish January 16. You can access a copy of the working document at https://sites.google.com/mtroyal.ca/academicplan.
We thank all the community members who attended the Town Hall meetings in January 18 and 19. Thursday’s Town Hall was videotaped. You can view it on the Academic Plan website. We also heard preliminary comments from members of GFC.
Haven’t made a Town Hall, but still want to have your say on the Plan? Drop by the kiosks on Main Street near the Library!
Drop by and ask questions about the plan and offer your feedback. You can also comment on the working document directly at academicplan@mtroyal.ca. Please submit your responses by February 3.
Looking ahead….
Save the Date! Next Town Hall is February 22 in Lincoln Park Room
A complete draft of the Academic Plan, revised in light of the comments we have received, will be the focus of a Town Hall meeting during Reading Week. The first half of the session will be a plenary session and then the meeting continues with opportunities to comment on specific aspects of the plan. Feel free to drop in at any time.
Final Consultations in March
We remain on track for bringing the revised Academic Plan to Faculty Council, Chairs’ Assembly and other University bodies for further comment in March. A final plan will be presented to GFC in April or May for approval.
And finally,
A big thank you to all the individuals who have taken time to offer their comments to improve the Plan. On a personal note, Jeff and Lee thank the members of the Academic Plan Steering Committee for their commitment to making this plan come together.
With thanks,
The Academic Plan Steering Committee
