- Need a strong linkage between the Academic Plan and MRU marketing strategy to ensure that Academic Affairs is properly promoted
- University leadership must emphasize the needs of Academic Affairs
- Learning outcomes must be department/discipline based
- Explore different tracks to raise the university's reputation, such as more support for professor publications and conference presentations
- Have MRU host undergraduate student conferences
- Support MRU-based publication venues for student work
- Publicize the extraordinary demand for some programs, as part of the effort to raise our public stature
- Pursue stronger community outreach/partnerships such as through Community Service Learning
- Showcase professor work at events like Open House
- Need for more scholarships as a means to attract and properly support excellent students and to help them avoid excessive debt
- Actively explore/develop different modes of delivery - on line, blended - to reach and help more students, such as those work obligations.
- Look to create more spring and summer courses; let vacation time be taken in Fall and Winter semesters
- Provide more support for all research -- too many dollars go to SoTL and Tri-Council winners
- To better support mental health, let students know it's OK to take fewer courses during the academic year and longer to complete their degree
- Attract more international students but ensure adequate resources to support them.
- Have the University dedicated to pursuing truths, no matter if uncomfortable
- Have foundation courses truly reflect the aims of GNED, and not be shell courses that express professorial disciplines
