The above image captures autism perfectly. ASD is often represented as a rainbow because of the various conditions it applies to. It is common for a child diagnosed with autism to need support from others, and it takes teamwork to help the child reach their full potential. A puzzle piece is also one of the main symbols for autism that brings awareness to the condition. Combining that and the rainbow creates a powerful image for autism awareness.

Atypical is a Netflix original show that was released in August 2017. It stars Keir Gilchrist as Sam Gardner, a high school student that is on the autism spectrum. Even though Sam is on the spectrum, he is high functioning teen; however, he struggles socially.
In the show, he decides that he wants to find love. The show portrays his quest for a girlfriend along with scenes of his breakdowns, tough love from his younger sister, and his obsession with penguins. While the series does an excellent job portraying the life of a student with autism, it does not even begin to scratch the surface of autism as a whole and the autism spectrum.
