We are three Seniors in high school are concerned about the well being of others and are interested in the helping ability that Crispr-Cas9 may potentially have!
Ava is an upcoming Biology major who is very interested in topics revolving around science and medicine, as well as helping others. Crispr-Cas9 caught her attention in a Biology lesson that talked about the new technology and its powers. She was concerned because many people are unaware of its existence and its potential to help others immensely.
Aya's main goal is always to help others, and as someone interested in social justice, the ethics of Crispr-Cas9 are very interesting to her. Before this project, Aya did not know much about Crispr, but has found it to be very interesting and eye-opening into a potentially common element of our future. Digging into this topic has allowed her to learn more and take a stand on why it is a viable option for helping those who suffer from health problems.
Swaga had little to no knowledge in regards to Crispr-Cas9 prior to starting this project, but she has always consistently taken science and social studies courses that has influenced her interest in both the science aspect and social/legal elements behind CRISPR. Upon learning more about it, she became increasingly concerned that many individuals, such as her at one point, are completely unaware of Crispr and hopes to inform people about the potential of it.
