They have desserts, they have heart shaped pizzas, and fun activities to do. Other students had plans with their partner! A lot of the answers were going out to dinner such as places like Din Tai Fung and the Cheesecake Factory! So many fun things to celebrate the holiday.
But what is the history of Valentine's day? Valentine's Day, celebrated on February 14th, has its origins in both ancient Roman and Christian traditions. It is often linked to the Roman festival of Lupercalia, a celebration held on the 14th of february. The day became associated with St. Valentine, a priest who defied Emperor Claudius II by secretly marrying couples, leading to his martyrdom. Over time, the holiday evolved into a celebration of love and affection, especially during the Middle Ages when the tradition of sending love notes gained popularity. By the 18th century, Valentine’s Day became widely recognized as a day for expressing romantic feelings, with the exchange of cards, gifts, and flowers.
