TEACHER STORIES: MRS. ROSENBLUM
Chloé Aguirre on November 27, 2024

Teachers are the foundation of society today, they bring students together, and allow for them to gain the aspects of life in which they need. One teacher particularly here at Moorpark High School has not only stood out to me, but to others as well. Mrs.Rosenblum, the head teacher of the performing arts program, oversees the drama, choir, AMT and MSP classes and is not only inspiring but also a heartening person. I got the privilege of sitting down and speaking with Mrs. Rosenblum and finding out the deeper meaning behind what being a teacher is for her.

All though Mrs.Rosenblum originally went to school to pursue acting, she came across many influences around her that geared her towards becoming a teacher.

“I always thought of becoming a teacher,” Mrs. Rosenblum starts, referring to a conversation between her and a past manager.

“He told me to just do it.”

From there she began to pursue teaching and hasn’t looked back. Mrs.Rosenblum also states that “it’s something that I’ve always kind of wanted to be. Even from when I was a kid.”

She has always wanted to motivate and inspire others. Her biggest motive behind her curriculum and ability to come to her job everyday however, is the students. Mrs. Rosenblum loves being able to connect and have a relationship with each and every student that walks through her door.

“I love that my students have lunch in here every day. We all just get to hang out and talk.” She says that it is one of the biggest things to bring her joy. This conversation particularly is what showed me who Mrs. Rosenblum is as a person. She cares about not only the students grade, but also the well-being. She looks forward to being able to present herself as a friend to the pupil. That is her priority, and I believe many teachers should look to her as a inspiration and guidance.
