Families,

It was a great Red Ribbon Week at Reagan! We have included some pictures for your enjoyment below.

Next week we will have our Fall Parties and Parade. Please ensure you read below for details related to timelines and allowable costumes at school.

🏈  Special Guest Readers 🪅

As part of Strategy 1 of our school site plan, Reagan students had some special guests come and read to them this week!

On Wednesday, Millard West football players visited K-2 classrooms.

Later today, members from the Scarlets at UNL will be coming to read to each grade level. Check out social media to see the Scarlets and our Eagles!

❄️ Wintery Conditions Are Almost Here - Reagan Recess Guidelines ❄️

Grade-level teachers and the office staff will determine whether students will go out for recess based on precipitation, wind chill, and temperature.  We will plan for outside recess if the temperature or wind chill (“feels like”)  is above 0 using weather.com at the time of the recess. This might mean that a grade level that has a recess at 10 AM may stay inside due to wind chill, and then it might warm up in the afternoon to allow for other grade levels to go outside. We will always go outside unless it is actively snowing and the area cannot be cleared in time for a safe recess.

☃️  ☃️  ☃️  ☃️

Please dress students appropriately for the weather each day so they can fully participate. Classroom teachers will be communicating today what students in your child's grade level will be permitted to bring for outside winter play. There are many factors that go into this decision, such as length of recess, students' level of independence getting dressed/undressed, schedule for what is happening before/after recess, etc. Please make sure to take note of your child's grade level decision through their weekly communication/newsletter. Thank you for your partnership and cooperation in advance.

Fall Parties and Parade

Tuesday, October 31

Reagan will host a school parade on Tuesday, October 31st, beginning at 2:15 p.m.

ALL parents and guardians are invited to view the parade from the exterior front entrance area and blacktop or the gyms if there is inclement weather! The parade will begin at 2:15 p.m. and travel in an outdoor pre-planned route on the blacktop area in the southwest corner of the school.

Parent volunteers will host a party for students in their classrooms immediately following the parade.  Only designated adults assisting with the party activities will be permitted in the classrooms.   Volunteers must be pre-registered with the office via the Sign Up Genius to attend the party and will be able to start checking in at the office at 1:45.

Costume Must-Knows:

In addition, students may be excused from the celebration, and parents may check out the student from the office at 2:10 p.m. if they wish.

Thank you for your attention to these procedures to make our Fall Celebration a success! Please contact Julie Milks at julieamilks@gmail.com with any questions.

‼️ A New K-5 Math App for Fact Fluency and Fractions ‼️

A special thank you to Parents with Heart and our school community funds raised from Fun Run for our new math app that all K-5 students have access to.

Students are being introduced to the resource in the coming days if they have not already.

Ask your child about Reflex and get on with them at home to see all of the great learning tools and games it offers! Students can access this through Clever.

See below for more information on the resource itself!
