Calendar of Events
It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. We have many things to be grateful for at Cottonwood. We are truly fortunate to have students who are so engaged and excited to learn every day. We have a caring and talented staff that makes sure that students’ needs are being met. And to round it up, we have a wonderful community of parents who are supportive and dedicated to ensuring that Cottonwood is the best school.
Just a reminder, there will be no school for students on Wednesday November 23rd - Friday, November 25th . The Cottonwood staff would like to wish you and your family the very best Thanksgiving! We hope that you enjoy time with your family and friends!

A Note from the Health Office
Cottonwood Elementary School will be performing non-diagnostic health screens to students in grades 1 through 4 in accordance with the Nebraska State Statute, #173 NAC 7. The purpose of the screening is to identify any possible health concerns and provide feedback to the student’s parents/guardians for follow-up. The screenings measure the following: height, hearing, vision, weight, and dental health. This screening will take place starting in November 2022. If you do not wish for your child to be screened, please contact Cottonwood Elementary School at 402-715-1391 or email your school healthcare provider, Roxie Znamenacek, RN at rlznamenacek@mpsomaha.org
If any student’s screening reveals a concern, the parent/guardians will be notified within 30 days.
Parent Pride:
A Parent Volunteer Group
The Parent Pride, a parent volunteer group, is an integral part of the Cottonwood community. Each year this group of volunteers help to organize and fund raise for the events and activities that take place at Cottonwood. There are no membership dues so we depend on donations or participation of our fund-raising events. We hope that you will consider volunteering your time to support one of these events. Please remember to check our weekly newsletter for other volunteer opportunities. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Gina Rudloff at 402-715-1390 or gkrudloff@mpsomaha.org.
