Cottonwood Families,

Congratulations 2nd Grade

Thank you to the many families who attended the second grade music performance of "Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day."  We hope you enjoyed the show.  The students did a fantastic job singing, dancing, and playing instruments.  A special thank you to the following individuals for your helping  the students prepare for this great event:  Mrs. Marble, Mrs. Braun, Mrs. Rangeloff, Mrs. Zagurski and Miss Cole.  A job well done!

Conferences

Thank you for all the families that attended our conferences.  We are so fortunate to have great participation.

Class Assignments for 2024-2025

It's that time of the year where we begin planning for next year.  Soon we will be developing class lists for next year.  The development of class lists is a very important task that involves many people and a great deal of thought.  As we create our class lists, we consider the following criteria:

Although we would like to grant all requests, it would be impossible to do so and could possibly jeopardize the integrity of the process. If there are truly unusual circumstances that you feel must be addressed regarding your child’s placement for next year, please follow these guidelines:

1. Send a dated and signed written request to Mrs. Rudloff by March  29, 2024. This can be in the form  of a letter or email.  Requests made after this point may not be considered.

2. Describe your child’s learning style and the type, not the name, of the teacher that would benefit your child.

There must be an educational rationale for your request. “My daughter had Mrs. Smith and really liked her,” is not an educationally sound reason. Please keep in mind that teacher assignments can change in the coming months or even over the summer. Rest assured that we will be very deliberate about formulating the class lists for next year so that your child has a positive, productive experience. Class assignments for the 2024-2025 school year will be shared close to the beginning of the school year as changes may occur close to the first weeks of school.
