#Be Kind

April 28, 2023

Cottonwood Families,

It’s that time of year where our calendars start to really fill up with events. Please make sure you are looking at the running calendar which is posted on the front of our newsletter each week.

Transition Days for In-Coming Kindergarten and 5th Graders

In a few weeks, two really important events will be taking place.  On Friday, May 5, our future Cottonwood Cougars will be attending Kindergarten Roundup. There will be two sessions one in the morning starting at 9:00 and another beginning at 1:00.

Remember, there will be no school that day for our current kindergarteners.

On that same day, our fifth graders will be visiting their future middle schools during the afternoon. Fifth graders will tour and have opportunities to ask questions about their future middle school.

Kudos to our Student Council!

Many thanks to our Student Council who hosted The Project Linus Event.  The mission of Project Linus is to provide, love, security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill or traumatized by providing them with handmade blankets.  Last night, several Cottonwood families participated in making homemade blankets for children in need.  Over 50 blankets were made. Thanks to you, many children will be comforted by the blankets you donated.

Cottonwood Fun Day:  May 12

There are no membership dues so we depend on donations or participation of our fund-raising events.  We hope that you will consider volunteering your time to support one of these events.  Please remember to check our weekly newsletter for other volunteer opportunities.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Gina  Rudloff at 402-715-1390 or gkrudloff@mpsomaha.org.  If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up below.
