#Be Kind
April 26, 2024
Cottonwood Families,
It’s that time of year where our calendars start to really fill up with events. Please make sure you are looking at the running calendar which is posted on the front of our newsletter each week.
Transition Days for In-Coming Kindergarten and 5th Graders
In a few weeks, two really important events will be taking place. On Friday, May 3rd, our future Cottonwood Cougars will be attending Kindergarten Roundup. There will be two sessions one in the morning starting at 9:00 and another beginning at 1:00.
Remember, there will be no school that day for our current kindergarteners.
On that same day, our fifth graders will be visiting their future middle schools during the afternoon. Fifth graders will tour and have opportunities to ask questions about their future middle school.

Talent Show
The annual Cottonwood Showcase of Talent will be held on the morning of Thursday, May 23rd at 9:00 Prior to the Showcase, all students in grades 1-5 will get the chance to perform for their grade-level peers. The grade-level performances will occur with just their peers so that each student gets to do his/her act for an audience. Each act will be voted on (secret ballot) by the students and/or teachers at that grade level. Grade level teachers will be sharing more information as to when their grade levels will have performances. A maximum of three acts per grade level will move on to perform for the whole school!
Acts are to be no more than two-and-a-half minutes long. Music must be transferred to CD, or send a link to the music through Youtube etc . We will not be accepting any “lip sync” acts, and a child may appear in only one act. If your child wishes to perform, please help him/her develop an act that will be appropriate and enjoyable for all ages. Thank you for your support. We hope you can join us.
