#Be Kind
August 25, 2023
Cottonwood Families,
At Cottonwood we support the philosophy of Positive Behavior Intervention Systems or PBIS. PBIS schools believe in teaching behavior expectations and acknowledging students for following these common expectations. The purpose is to create an environment which promotes positive behavior and community.
At Cottonwood our motto is:
Cottonwood Cougars LEAD with PRIDE
Learn Respectfully
Encourage Others
Act Safely
Demonstrate Responsibility
Staff members have been distributing Cougar Paws to individual students who are following school expectations and living our motto. These students are recognized during morning announcements and receive a variety of rewards based on the number of Cougar Paws he/she received. Some of the incentives include stickers, pencils, postcards, surprises and a student picture displayed in the Hall of Fame.
Thank you for being such a caring and supportive community. It is a privilege to work with your child(ren). Just remember:
"No Act of Kindness no matter how small is ever wasted." --Aesop
Congratulations Cottonwood Cougars!

Parent Pride:
A Parent Volunteer Group
Our Parent Pride would like to create an online directory. Information such as name, phone number and address are shared. Parents often find the directory a useful resource for planning such events as playdates and birthdays. If you do NOT wish for your information to be published, please respond in writing to Mrs. Rudloff (gkrudloff@mpsomaha.org) by September 29th. After that date, we will begin the process of publishing and distributing it to Cottonwood families.
