Writing a science notebook can be challenging and time-consuming for young learners. SeeSaw enables students to record their scientific inquiry and thinking. Use this Activity for science experiments. Students can either take a photo of the experiment or use the drawing tool, and then record their thinking.
SeeSaw can make Science Notebooking much more accessible for first graders who don't type or write quickly. Instead of having to draw the experiment and then write about it, the teacher can post the picture of the experiment and the students can record themselves explaining what they learned. In this Activity, the teacher posted the photo of this air density experiment and then students responded to the prompt: Why did the paper towel stay dry when we put an upside down cup in water? You can record, draw or type your thoughts.
Students will listen to an e-book and then sort and explain their thinking on a template.
Note: E-Book could also be shown whole class.
Students will label an apple and record their understanding.
