TJC DEFY Camp is an annual leadership development camp that aims to provide opportunities for self-directed JC1 learners to defy their limits by stepping out of their comfort zones to take the initiative to lead, cultivate a spirit of adventure and be driven to be socially responsible citizens.

Our JC1 students curated an unforgettable year-end camp. They dove into the thrill of dragon boating, racing with each other, mastering strategies to paddle faster and farther. The waters echoed with laughter and team spirit! But that’s not all — leadership took centre stage with challenges like a high-octane relay race, a campus-wide treasure hunt , and a unique lunch adventure where they cooked up a storm from scratch!
Pushing boundaries further, participants embarked on a remarkable 31km overnight walk for the Walk For Rice initiative. DEFY 2023 was more than just a camp; it was an odyssey of self-discovery, inspiring our students to give back, break their barriers, and nurture their leadership prowess!
DEFY 2022
DEFY Camp 2022 ended off with a 25 kilometre walk where the students viewed the Singapore Flyer at night! Not only did the overnight walk give students a chance to defy their limits - both physically and mentally - it also gave them an opportunity to give back to society. Through the Camp, more than $5900 was raised for the President’s Challenge and through partnering with FairPrice Walk For Rice initiative and Bedok Youth Network over 40 000 bowls of rice for the needy families was donated. DEFY Camp 2022 gave the JC1 students a chance to challenge the process and reach greater heights together, all while having fun and giving back to the society!
