'We've Made Our Move! What's Yours? Join Us!' Come visit us on 12 Jan, Friday, 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.!
The GCE A-Level H1 Project Work (8882) is a compulsory school-based examinable coursework subject that all JC1 students need to offer. A pass for the subject will be required to be eligible for admission to the autonomous universities.
In TJC, we believe that complexities of modern life require innovative ideas to address the specific needs of different groups of people. Our goal is to support our students in developing ideas that fulfill desired purposes while motivating others with their optimism and inventiveness. In order for us to work together to create a better future, we aim to engage and teach our students to be BRAVER—Bold, Reflective, Accountable, Versatile, Ethical, and Resilient.
Project Work (PW) provides the opportunity for students to explore and address both local and global issues and to acquire and apply knowledge across disciplines. Anchored on the framework of Design Thinking, PW in TJC offers students a range of authentic learning experiences, imbues them with the designer mindset and equips them with design thinking tools to solve real-world problems. By putting themselves in the shoes of the user, students learn to empathise with the user’s needs and to design meaningful solutions for the user.

As part of promoting student-agency, project work teams will determine their project goals and project timeline. Nominated project work leaders will undergo the PW Leadership Facilitation Course where they will learn from their seniors about strategies to build effective and collaborative team cultures. Students can also seek advice and support from their assigned PW supervising tutor and hone their analytical and decision-making skills through the process.
