The Temasek Junior College (TJC) Biology department aims to provide exciting and enriching experiences to develop our students’ interests in Biology and build their knowledge, skills and attitudes for further studies in related fields. Our dedicated tutors in the Biology department work very closely with students to cultivate their inquisitive mind-set and encourage students to deepen their understanding of Biology through lectures, in-class activities, practical lessons and enrichment programmes.

Curriculum
Biology students will build a strong foundation in understanding life at cellular and molecular levels, and making connections between these micro-systems and the organism as a whole. We aim to empower our student learners to possess the ability to use scientific principles and reasoning in order to draw links and see interconnected relationships. This allows them to relate to situations encountered in their daily lives, which is critical for real-world problem solving. In TJC, Biology is offered at the H1 (8876) and H2 (9744) levels.
In addition, all our tutors strongly believe in keeping abreast with current trends and pedagogical approaches to support and value-add to students’ learning. Our tutors regularly present and participate at the Instructional Programme Support Group (IPSG) for A-level Biology in Singapore, a valuable platform for sharing and enhancing teaching and learning strategies.
