1. Synopsis

This CCE lesson follows-up on the lesson where the class had a session at the computer lab to explore myskillsfuture portal. The purpose of this lesson is for students to put their future educational pathways they wish to pursue on paper and not merely to think about them. As CCE lessons use facilitation skills to engage students, this lesson will demonstrate how questions are used to deepen their learning and understanding, and how reflection is used to assess what students have learnt and how they can also continue their next step.

4. Reflection

The lesson started well as students enjoy using Kahoot – they were engaged and those who could not use their mobile phones had iPad minis to use to join the quiz. The use of Kahoot and/or games to enhance students’ learning is an area that I need to use more of in my lessons.

As I had requested the FTs to remind students to complete their career assessment inventories and obtain their 3-letter code, FTs had fed back that some students had been locked out of the portal and so were unable to obtain their 3-letters. Hence the overview of RIASEC provided some basis for them to start exploring either the industry or job roles for the career interests that they felt best matched their personalities.
