Activate prior knowledge

Teacher facilitates the recap process with a mini quiz that students can individually and anonymously respond. The 5 quiz questions will allow the teacher to have an assessment of how much students have learnt and remembered from the previous few lessons.

Facilitating collaborative learning

With a recap of the concepts students have learned, the lesson progresses to the SBQ practice on Bishan Nursing Home.

With a short discussion on the requirements of the question, students will attempt the question as a group for 20 mins.

White-boarding concept & Using questions to deepen learning

Teacher will select a few group responses to discuss with the class on the quality of the answers provided to enhance and deepen their understanding. The white-boarding concept allows students to work in groups and allow monitoring by teachers with the use of clarifying questions after the sharing/presentation of their responses.

Nearpod

Nearpod is selected because of its available types of AFL options such as a poll, quiz and a collaborative board for them to view responses and to build on discussion.

Quiz in SLS portal

The quiz questions and open-ended responses from individual and group submission will allow me to assess students’ understanding from previous and current lesson.
