State funding no longer pays for all students to have free/reduced lunch. The information for how to apply for free or reduced lunch is communicated through the parent newsletter.
Parents can set up and maintain a balance on their child’s account through online credit card payments, sending checks, or sending cash.
If a student’s balance drops below a certain point they will be provided an alternate lunch. The cafeteria will send home weekly notes indicating students who have low balances. Please put these notes in students’ daily folders as soon as possible to avoid upsetting students (and parents) receiving alternate lunches.
There is also an automated phone system that notifies parents of low balances.
Adult lunches can be purchased at an increased price that allows you to receive adult size portions on your side items.
Some lunch items may require advance notification before purchasing. See the cafeteria manager for more details.
Lunch in your classroom: This is okay as long as it doesn’t become a cleaning or supervision issue. If your class buys lunch in the cafeteria and eats it in your classroom, please ask for disposable trays.
