Student Dress Code

Please make sure to communicate the MISD student dress code. Link to dress code is above.
If students are not in dress code, you need to remind the parents of the dress code policy.
If you need support with a student breaking dress code frequently, please let administration know. Students should not be reprimanded about dress code in front of their peers or others.
Middle and High Schools in McKinney ISD are strict with dress code, so I believe it is best to learn and enforce these rules in elementary school.
Teachers should also follow the student dress code. Cold shoulder shirts/dresses must follow the student dress code for wearing a sleeveless shirt or blouse.

Staff may wear jeans with any McGowen spirit shirt or kindness shirt on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays without a jeans pass.
There will be times when jean coupons are awarded. Jean passes can be used on any day of the week. Jeans on a day other than Wednesday or Friday, should be worn with a professional shirt.
Surprise jean days will be communicated through Remind text. Whole staff surprise Jean days do not require a pass.
Please place jean pass either in the principal's mailbox, or on her desk on the day you are using the pass.
Please do not wear jeans with holes or rips above the knee. Staff should follow the student dress code. I trust that you will use your professional judgement when deciding your professional dress for work.
Colored jean material pants are not considered "jeans", and can be worn at any time.
