Teachers are expected to supervise students in a manner that protects and preserves school property.
Classroom Furniture
Keeping rooms neat and clean helps with classroom management and lesson presentation.
Please do not move or trade furniture. If you are in need of furniture other than what has been issued to you, please notify the school secretary in writing or via email with information about specific furniture needs (too much, too little, or need something different).
Do not bring in outside furniture unless approved by the principal. Refrigerators and microwaves are not allowed in classrooms, but are available in the teacher lounge.
Do not ask Miss Irma to bring your furniture without getting with the campus secretary. Miss Irma and the campus secretary will work together to make sure everyone has what they need. Please email Tracey Welden-tweldon@mckinneyisd.net or stop by her office if you have furniture or supply needs.
Due to student allergies and safety, please refrain from having a classroom pet.
Classrooms should be comfortable and set up to provide the best educational setting for students.
Building Concerns
Please report any maintenance problems to the secretary. Call front office if there is a need for immediate custodian attention.
Teachers should check exterior doors daily and report any door problems immediately to the principal and campus secretary.
Please report lounge and workroom needs to the campus secretary. Ex. forks, coffee, cups, spoons, sugar, copier not working, microwave not working, etc.
District Technology
Student devices stay on school grounds. No student laptop or iPad ever travels home with a student.
Students may not decorate or personalize their devices with stickers. Teachers are encouraged to use vinyl stickers, painter's tape, or masking tape to organize classroom technology. For example, simple number stickers or sticky notes assist students with organization and login credentials.
All families sign an Acceptable Use Policy on behalf of their child during registration, agreeing to the district policies on care, online behavior, and prohibited activity. Report concerns to campus administrators and LMS.
Staff may take district devices home and use home wifi for educational purposes. Keep district devices on a power source to avoid complete battery drain. This can delete district network profiles and cause inoperable issues once the staff member is back on campus.
The technology department monitors usage on both staff and student devices. Avoid using an MISD device for personal inquiries or accounts. All staff members complete an annual technology compliance training as well as a cyber-safety course, agreeing to proper and responsible use of district technology.
