Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings are held for each special education student as scheduled by the campus diagnostician, diagnostician’s secretary, special education teachers, speech teachers and/or principal.
All ARD committee meetings shall include at least one regular classroom teacher.
Information discussed in ARD meetings shall remain confidential except as needed by those who have direct contact with the student.
Unless asked to do so, general education teachers should not bring their laptops to ARD meetings.
ARD meetings should be kept to one hour unless it is an initial ARD. In order to be proactive, SPED teachers should communicate to the teacher attending the ARD if they think the ARD will take longer than a planning period.
Departmentalized grade-level teachers can decide which teacher attends the ARD. In order to maximize planning and design time, it is not necessary for all teachers on a departmentalized team to attend every ARD.
Some ARD meetings are virtual through TEAMS. Please review the videos on how to access TEAMS.
