All faculty members are expected to attend each faculty, committee, and collaborative team meetings. Please assume there is a meeting of some kind every Wednesday from 3:50-4:50 PM. Please notify the principal in advance if you are unable to attend a faculty meeting/collaborative team meeting.
Proper documentation of attendance will be kept at all meetings.
If the meeting is not a PD, a printed sign-in sheet will be circulated during the meeting, and it will be the responsibility of each staff member to sign in.
Teachers should register for all professional development meetings on STRIVE 24 hours before the training. Campus trainings will offer a QR code to register for training prior to the meeting.
Staff members are required to attend approved in-service, staff development, and/or workdays. Usually, jeans are okay to wear on these days as long as teachers look professional.
Protective days for Collaborative team meetings will be held on Tuesday and Thursday. Unless instructed otherwise or excused, all members of the team should plan to attend each meeting.
Tuesday and Thursday conference periods are protected for PLC Collaborative Design time.
Meetings will be held on a regular basis as scheduled by the principal. Team Leaders and the administration team will collaborate and review proposed meeting dates during monthly team leader meetings, in order to consider the weekly obligations/time. (For example RTI meetings, open house, report card deadlines, etc). Teachers should communicate concerns to their team leader prior to the team leader meeting so that concerns can be added to the TL agenda.
All para professionals are invited and encouraged to join us on meetings that include PTA snacks. Scheduled snack meetings are on the McGowen Google Calendar and will also be communicated on the Friday weekly newsletter from the principal.
Team Leader meetings will be scheduled on one Monday each month, and faculty meetings are always on Wednesday. Please see the Google McGowen Campus Events calendar for specific meeting dates and times.
There is always an open seat at our TL meetings. If you would like to attend a TL meeting and you are not a TL, please let Kim Luyster know.
Team meetings will be held at least twice per week. Unless instructed otherwise or excused, all members of the team should plan to attend each meeting.
Tuesday and Thursday conference periods are protected for PLC Collaborative Design time.
PLC meetings should focus on the 4 essential questions using the Lead4ward and MISD Model of Instruction as a guideline.
During PLC meetings, teachers should consider the novelty factor of involving community members in the lesson design.

Budget for extended planning with campus initiated substitutes is TBD.
