The Instructional Innovation Division is growing from its start date, July 1, 2020 and has acted quickly to serve the needs of the NPC Community. The division houses support from the Libraries, Instructional Technology and Curriculum Support, Perkins Grants, Early College, and Office of Accessibility and Inclusion. We serve our students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

During the January 13 Division Meeting, I asked our staff to describe their year of 2020 using 2-3 words. Responses included overwhelming, hectic, exhausting, challenges, along with adaptable, hopeful, growth, and enlightening. I then shared mine - stressful, grateful, and gainful.

This January when we turn the page to 2021, we will also be turning the page to a new office name serving students with disabilities. The Office of Accessibility and Inclusion signifies much more than a name change. Historically, people with disabilities have been separated from people without disabilities. Fear is usually at the heart of the need to separate or categorize people.

The Libraries have create a Subject Guide for most programs and some courses or subject areas. These guides link to resources such as books, eBooks, Databases with journal articles, online research, online terminology, college related links, career, and other resources.

Perkins Grant funds allowed NPC Construction Technology to purchase a planer, shaper, jointer, table saw, drum sander, and mortiser at a cost of over $18,000 for the PDC Skill Center. Mr. Meza commented, “The timing [of available grant funds] couldn’t have been better for us.”
