Anti-bullying
Anti-bullying approach at Maesgwyn
We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our school. If bullying does occur, all pupils should be able to tell and get help and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. We are a TELLING school. This means that anyone who knows that bullying is happening is expecting to tell the staff and are expected to inform the appropriate staff and ensure the target is supported.
On the left you will see our 'Anti-bullying policy' which also includes our aims that include:
To provide a safe, caring environment for the whole school community, especially the children in our care.
To instil in children that bullying is unacceptable and that reports of bullying will be taken seriously, recorded and acted upon.
To reassure children that they will be listened to and will know that it is all right to tell to get help.
To communicate to parents/carers and keep them informed of actions taken in response to a complaint.
A full investigation will follow any report of bullying with detailed records kept of incidents, reports and complaints.
To take appropriate action, including exclusion in cases of severe bullying.
To monitor incidents of bullying during the school year
