Humanities

The Humanities Area of Learning and Experience is all about asking questions about the human condition. As such, studying human experiences in the past and present, at local, national and global levels, will help learners answer those questions, encouraging them to contribute to their communities, imagine possible futures and benefit from a sense of belonging.

What will pupils experience during the Humanities sessions?

The Humanities AOLE (Area of Learning and Experience) allows pupils to develop their skills in communication and investigation by looking more deeply at a wide range of topics and themes. Elements of Geography, R.E. and History are at the forefront with special attention being given to relationships, the wider world and citizenship too.

We have designed theme parks, looked at cultures from around the world, studied our local history and most recently have been looking at weathering and erosion so we have conducted some experiments!
