Pumpkin Time!

Fall has arrived, bringing us many seasonal changes. The weather starts to get a little cooler, trees lose their leaves - and we see pumpkins, lots of pumpkins! If you don't have pumpkins growing in your garden, you'll certainly see pumpkins in the stores along with pumpkin pies, pumpkin spice and pumpkin flavored everything!

For our pumpkin project, we will use different values of orange - value is the lightness or darkness of a color of object and is one of our elements of art. By using value in our work, we will make our pumpkin look more realistic.

Supplies - you will need:

white paper
pencil or black marker to draw with
crayons or oil pastels
watercolor paints

We will be blending colors for the pumpkin and using the resist technique in the background, so markers are not a good choice for this project. If you don't have watercolor paint, you can use crayon lightly to color between your patterns in the background.
