Chris Uphues' Happy Art!

Chris Uphues is a working American artist. He is best known for his signature pop art which is colorful, playful and lots of fun. His work is always happy and full of optimism, often featuring hearts and flowers.

He creates murals as well as prints, paintings and sculptures.

His work is also available on an assortment of merchandise such as greetings cards, stationery, stickers and t shirts through his company Beautiful Days.

Chris Uphues-Inspired
"Happy Art" (upper grades)

This is a great project to use as a gift for someone, to use for a card or just to have fun with.

You'll need white paper, pencil and eraser for drawing and a black Sharpie for outlining. For color, I'll be using markers plus a paint brush with water - using the markers to look like watercolor paint. But you can use markers, crayons - whatever you have available or prefer. I didn't finish the coloring in the lesson - you don't need to watch me color! - or color the background but I will leave it to you students to decide how you want to color the background and finish your coloring.
