2.1 Conditional Statements
2.2 Inductive and Deductive Reasoning
2.4 Algebraic Reasoning
2.5 Proving Statements about Segments and Angles
2.6 Proving Geometric Relationships
2.1 – Conditional Statements
Students will identify, write, and analyze conditional statements and their converses, inverses, and contrapositives using logic and counterexamples (G.5C).
2.2 – Inductive and Deductive Reasoning
Students will use inductive reasoning to make conjectures and identify patterns, and use deductive reasoning to draw valid conclusions from given facts (G.5A, G.5C).
2.4 – Algebraic Reasoning
Students will use properties of equality, congruence, and algebraic reasoning to write and justify steps in solving problems involving segments and angles (G.1C, G.5D).
2.5 – Proving Statements about Segments and Angles
Students will write formal proofs to justify geometric relationships involving segments and angles using definitions, postulates, and previously proven theorems (G.5D).
2.6 – Proving Geometric Relationships
Students will apply deductive reasoning to write paragraph and two-column proofs to prove geometric theorems about angles, lines, and segments (G.5D).
