This course is designed to challenge, support, and prepare students for advanced high school math. Below you’ll find everything you need to stay organized and successful throughout the year.

This guide walks you through how our Geometry class is structured—from daily routines to grading policies—so you know exactly what to expect and how to succeed. Keep it handy and refer to it whenever you need a quick reminder of how things work in our classroom.
Warm-Up (~10 minutes)

Whole-Class Lesson (~35 minutes)
Guided notes, worked examples, and interactive practice.

Practice is ungraded but essential for mastering concepts.
Some problems will appear on graded assignments or tests.
Wrap-Up (~10 minutes)
Go over select problems, address common errors, and prepare for upcoming lessons.
Provided STAAR Reference Sheet allowed.
Desks cleared; only school-provided calculators may be used.
Calculator memory must be cleared and shown before testing.
Assessments take the entire class period. No extra time unless stated in a 504/IEP.
All accommodations will be followed.
You must show all work to receive credit. No work = no credit.
If absent the day before a test (review day), the test is still taken on the assigned day.
Extra day given only if an instructional day is missed.
If absent on a test day, take the test immediately upon returning to school.
Eligible if score is 79% or lower (quizzes not eligible).
Retest score capped at 80%.
Points earned back only for questions corrected.
Must complete and turn in test corrections before retesting.
Retests held on scheduled days; student must attend a designated session.
Must retest within 5 days after score is posted in Skyward.

This course is a high school credit class, and success starts with a solid foundation. This optional 124-question practice packet is designed to help students entering Honors Geometry review essential pre-algebra skills from previous grades.
The packet includes key topics such as:
Real number operations (fractions, integers, and perfect squares)
Solving equations and inequalities
Simplifying and evaluating expressions
Coordinate graphing
Word problems, percent problems, and properties of numbers
Why use it?
This packet is highly recommended to refresh skills and build confidence. Answer keys are included, and students are encouraged to use Khan Academy or other resources to review any unfamiliar concepts.
