Description of the Project: Students part of the LGBTQ+ Impacts Group were involved in a wide range of creative and purposeful sessions of their choice to help the LGBTQ+ community at school. Fun activities included Kahoot! quizzes, fashion mood board designs, and other fun games such as a relay race, all related to the LGBTQ+. These activities were not exclusive to the avid allies, but were open also to those curious about the LGBTQ+. This Impacts group was an opportunity to help enact decisive, positive changes to the school environment to promote belonging, inclusion, learning opportunities, awareness, and self-discovery. Crash courses were held within the week to allow anyone to be educated on the topic. On the last day of Impacts Week, Friday, we welcomed the “Collectif Arc en Ciel’ organisation (one of the main leaders of LGBTQ+ activism in Mauritius), represented by Neina Mudhoo who talked about LGBTQ+ rights in Mauritius and overseas.
