FLASH MOB

Description for the Project: The effects of covid have permanently detached us from each other, leaving us in isolation and permanently anxious of the future ahead. Our team invites you to break through these walls by joining in a flashmob which strives for connection, love, and a beautiful sense of compassion for the others around us. Let’s spread joy through dance, together.

About Dance: Learning, thought, creativity and intelligence don’t just come from the brain alone, but from the entire body. This is why dance is vital not only as an art form, but as a sequence of movements that increase order, memory skills and cognitive development. Human beings have an innate need to move throughout the day, and dance provides that opportunity to get off our digital devices to strengthen our bodies, muscles, balance and improve our hearts. In addition, dance is not merely a physical activity, but a way to socialize and be around others, to share an experience with peers and people that you wouldn’t have interacted with otherwise. Dance is a link between the mind and the body. But more importantly, dance is a way to bind a community together and create an experience from which everyone will grow and share love and happiness.

Creating Memories

"Remember that time when we took over Bagatelle?"

Student Reflections

"Day 3 was a good day and excellent too! As we went to dance at Bagatelle which was successful, we had to do final rehearsals to clean up everything and make sure everybody knew their placements and when they were going to dance. We had so much fun dancing at Bagatelle 2 times! And we also had some time to eat what we wanted at Bagatelle and also get what we wanted! It was so much fun." - Student 1

"I learnt how to listen to my peers and their opinions, to cooperate, to collaborate and learn together. We learnt new dance moves, new dances, like li tourne. I also learnt how to be patient."- Student 2

"This past week has been truly amazing and so special. I got to make new friends and the experiences with them were so fun and special. Dancing led us to express ourselves through the movements and music as well. We discovered new cultures through the songs and dances and showed them to different people when dancing at Bagatelle, Clavis and at school as well. Through this flashmob I personally feel when we shared our dances we somehow united our society a bit more. We expressed this joy we had while dancing and I think it went out to the public which made us more united as a community. It has been such an amazing and fun week. Thank you to all the leaders and all teachers for this experience." - Student 3

"Today we went to clavis and i loved how we were able to dance in front of the little children and put a smile on their faces and that they loved the dance so much that they actually started dancing wit us they were all super cute and while dancing you could feel the great vibe coming from everyone it really show how hard work always pays off and how all our work and dedication has really made it possible for us to be in sync and actually dance in front of an audience without being scared of messing up and i am so amazed by the energy that was coming from everyone im glad to have been able to experience this unique opportunity with this amazing group of wonderful people." - Student 4
