LBIS Trail Run

Description of the project: The LBIS trail was a unique opportunity for participants to venture into the great outdoors while pushing their physique beyond their limits. Being able to step away for a breath of fresh mountain air will be a brilliant opportunity to, not only, challenge and improve the body but cleanse the mind and refresh the spirit. Students even had the chance to work together and improve their technical skills, by pushing their thinking to a critical level and rattle their creative mindsets in order to prepare all the documentations for an official 10km race.

Participant's reflections:

Planning a trail includes many obstacles, which require a fair amount of work and cooperation within the group.

Planning a trail involves several barriers that need considerable effort and collective collaboration

I learned working collaboratively with the group members and making important decisions as a group. I also learned about some aspects of navigating ourselves using a map.

I learned about more alternate routes from LBIS to Le Pouce

Through the exploration of the trail, we learned about the surroundings of the trail such as the obstacles which participants may encounter when running. We also learned to work collaboratively and to communicate effectively in order to deduce and finalize the track.

By designing a map and identifying the site on google map we were able to develop our map reading and orientation skills. We also developed our collaboration since we had to conduct several discussions during the mapping process in order to have an accurate map.
