PHE6350 – Introduction to Sports Officiating
· Semester – 0.25 credit - Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
· Selection Criteria: Students age 14 and older

This course teaches the rules, mechanics, and fundamentals of officiating for selected sports. The course combines web-based modules and interactive classroom activities to build officiating skills, focusing on career opportunities and lifelong supplemental employment. Students age 14 and older may take the Ohio licensure exam to become certified officials in selected sports. Planned sport offerings in the 1st semester will be soccer and basketball. Planned sport offerings in the 2nd semester will be baseball/softball and basketball. This course does not count towards Physical Education Credit.
