CONST-WOOD Principles of Wood Construction (178030) - 1.5 credits

This course is the second course and is designed for students in all pathways in the Construction Academy career field.

Students will engage in the introductory skills utilized in working with various wood construction materials. They will learn to use basic measuring tools, hand tools and machines, common to the wood industry, to construct basic projects. Additionally, students will examine various wood construction materials and their properties. Throughout the course, students will learn components of site and personal safety. (At the end of the year students will pick a pathway either Carpentry Pathway OR Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Systems Pathway.)
