River Pathway
Upnor class have continued to explore the world of health and safety. We explored all the buildings on our site and linked areas that we believed needed a safety sign. Upnor class are showing excellent progress in this area and are on course to to fulfill all areas of our ASDAN qualification.
We had an amazing time here at Milestone @ Wilmington! Graffiti artist Leon from Graffiti Stars joined us to run a workshop with our young people, and it was a blast. Together, they created two vibrant pieces of art. The first was an inclusive welcoming sign for the main building, and the second was a fun new sign for the M@W café. Each student had the opportunity to get involved in the creative process, choosing colours, shapes, and words that truly reflected their ideas. It was inspiring to see them collaborate and express themselves through art. A massive thank you to Leon and everyone who participated!
Maths has been a very enjoyable session for our students, from ordering numbers, understanding properties of 3d shapes to the use of positional language, Upnor class have been engaged and ready to learn.
Our students have enjoyed work experience at the M@LAW cafe. Making food and drinks to orders and keeping the kitchen in tip top condition.
We have been exploring the different options for our enterprise sessions, Upnor have decided to focus on baked goods. Our first task was to make a victoria sponge, this was very well received by the students and could be one to watch out for in our upcoming markets!
Upnor Class has been busy diving into our health and safety ASDAN qualification! We’ve been exploring our environment, investigating various areas and objects to determine whether they are safe or not. It’s been quite the adventure! We've also learned about the different health and safety signs we encounter daily, discussing what they mean and why they’re important.
