Module 6
Throughout Module 6, we've celebrated the world's diverse cultures, linking it to sensory exploration, practical skills development, and physical activity.
Key Activities:
Exploring Cultures: Students engaged with the central idea of "the world is full of cultures" through various activities. This included exploring the sensory story "The Snail and the Whale" and using different coloured resources each week. These activities also connected to their ASDAN unit on exploring food through the senses.
Gardening and Science: Students learned about gardening basics in horticulture, including necessary resources and planting seeds. In science, inspired by the story "Morris the Magpie," they investigated recyclable materials.
Physical Development: Students continued to work hard on achieving their individual physical targets through rebound therapy, aqualearn sessions, and visits to soft play room.

PMLD Activity Day 2024
On Tuesday, July 7th, PMLD classes across the Milestone community came together for a fun-filled day of activities. Students and their parents enjoyed a variety of sensory, communication (ECT), and physical activities that explored the theme of "Who We Are" from the IB Transdisciplinary Theme. Through these activities, students were encouraged to reflect on their likes and dislikes, fostering a celebration of equality and diversity within the Milestone community.
Each PMLD class team thoughtfully designed activities that engaged students and families, creating a truly collaborative and inclusive environment.
Our amazing PE Lead, Steve, led a fantastic session of rebound therapy, ball skills development, and various other sports activities, keeping everyone energized and engaged.
Adding to the positive atmosphere, students from Milestone@Wilmington volunteered their time to participate in the event. They interacted wonderfully with the younger students and their families, providing enthusiastic support and fostering a truly inclusive environment.
The students and parents had a great time trying out all the activities
